Якутия – главный «холодильник» для учёных. Именно здесь найдено огромное количество уцелевшей органики древних животных, среди которых мамонты, пещерные львы, шерстистые носороги. В регионе найдены и изучены наиболее редкие находки: Юкагирский мамонт, Оймяконский мамонтёнок, Колымский носорог, Малоляховский мамонт, мамонт Юка. Эти находки рассказывают о далёком прошлом нашей Земли и рождают у исследователей надежды на возможность клонирования зверей, живших десятки тысяч лет назад.

Yakutia is of paleontological significance and the main "refrigerator" for scientists as in this very area huge amount of prehistoric animals’ relics were found, preserved in ice or permafrost, including mammoths, cave lions, woolly rhinoceros. The scientists have been discovered and studied very rare findings in Yakutia, including: Yukagir mammoth, Oymyakon mammoth, Kolyma rhinoceros, Malolyakhovsky mammoth and Yuka mammoth. These findings inform about the remote past of our Earth and give a hope to researchers for the possibility of cloning animals that lived more than tens of thousands years ago.
